Are you a book lover? Do you like to read as a way of luxury? Do you like intellectual competition? Do you want to win a reading prize? If yes, yes, yes, then this is for you!. As a way to mark the International Youth Day, Library Advocacy Group presents a literacy promotion competition for all undergraduates students with interesting prizes attached.
The Library Advocacy Group, a set of vibrant librarians committed to libraries advocacy with a view to positively influence policies in Nigeria presents: ”Literacy Promotion: Celebrating Nigerian Youths”. The knowledge economy can only be driven by youths who are empowered with the relevant skills and knowledge through commitment to independent studying, occasioned by good reading/study habits. Reading facilitates peace by building empathy and understanding.
To this end Nigerian Youths in Institutions of Learning (Universities, Polytechnics, Monotechnics and Colleges of Educations) are invited to read, and summarize the following:
You are expected to read and summarize in plain terms your understanding of the above mentioned text and Article. Your summaries should be 4 pages for the book and a single page for the article (scanned copies).
Your summaries should be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org on or before August 10th, 2017.
1st Prize: An E -reader or cash equivalent and books.
2nd prize: Fifteen Thousand Naira (15,000) and books.
3rd prize: Ten Thousand Naira (10,000) and books.
Your submission should include name, course of study, level, matriculation number and scanned copy of your identity card. Winners will be announced on August 12 to commemorate the United Nations International Youth Day. #youth4peace
